Visa Information - Operator Assisted
We provide Operator Assisted Visa Information on two phone numbers for Irish and International callers. This service is operated by Defacto Call Center GmbH, Am Pestalozziring 1-2, Erlangen, Germany.
Callers in Ireland should dial 1580 47 VISA (1580 47 8472). Calls to this line are charged at Euro 2.44/minute including VAT, from landlines; some mobile and network providers may charge more. In addition, some mobile and network providers cannot access this number. Callers from outside Ireland and some mobile and network providers cannot access this number.
Callers in Ireland may also use the Credit Card Payment Option. To use this option please call (01)436-0536. Calls cost 16 Euro payable through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
Callers from outside Ireland can only use the credit card option. In this case, in addition to the fee, international dialling costs will be charged by your operator. The number to be dialled in this case is +353-1-436-0536.
American Citizen Emergencies
If you are an American citizen in Ireland in need of emergency assistance outside of regular business hours (including weekends and holidays), please call the Embassy’s main number (01)630-6200 and follow the prompts to reach the operator. You will be connected to the U.S. Marine Security Guard on duty who will assist with directing your call.
If you are an American citizen in Ireland in need of emergency assistance during regular business hours (8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), please call the Embassy main number (01-630-6200), press 1 at the first recorded message, and follow the prompts to reach the American Citizen Services Unit.

Location of Embassy:
The Embassy is located at 42 Elgin Road in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Entrance to the Consular Section is through the main building entrance at the intersection to Elgin and Pembroke Roads.
If you are traveling from the city center by Dublin bus you may take the number 4, 4A 5, 7, 7A, 8, 45, 63 or 84 and exit at the first stop after D4 Hotels (formerly Jury's hotel) in Ballsbridge. The Embassy is across the road.
If you are traveling from the city center by the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) you should exit at Landsdowne Road train station. When you leave the station, turn left and walk through Landsdowne Road to the traffic lights at the corner of D4 Hotels (formerly Jury's hotel). Turn left at D4 Hotels - you are now on Pembroke Road. The Embassy is across the road about 2 minute's walk from D4 Hotels.
The Embassy does not have car parking space available for visitors. If you travel to the Embassy by car, disc parking is available close to the Embassy on Elgin Road, Clyde Road, Raglan Road or Herbert Park.
