How do I mail original documents to the Federal Benefits Unit?

If you live in Ireland:

It is important to note that the Embassy cannot be held responsible if documents are lost in the mail. Your documents will be returned to you by regular mail. If you wish to have them returned by Registered Mail, please provide us a pre-paid Special Delivery envelope for the return of your documents. These are available from the Post Office.

If you live outside Ireland – i.e. The Netherlands:

It is important to note that the Embassy cannot be held responsible if documents are lost in the mail.

We will return your documents by regular airmail. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept pre-paid registered envelopes from the Dutch Post Office as our local Post Office is unable to accept them.

However, if you do not wish to mail your original documents, you may make an appointment to take the originals to the U.S. Consulate in Amsterdam where they will certify copies for you to send to us. Please refer to their website http://amsterdam.usconsulate.gov/ for information and contact details.
