Medical emergencies, Student and Exchange Visitor Travel

The Embassy's Consular Section will try whenever possible--on a space-available basis--to expedite interview appointments for applicants with special circumstances (e.g., emergency medical treatment or a death in the family) and students (F or M visas) and exchange program participants (J visas) who need to report to a U.S. educational institution by a certain date. Applicants who need a special appointment for emergency travel may send an e-mail to DublinCons@state.gov to arrange an interview. Please put “request for an emergency appointment” in the subject line of your email.

PLEASE NOTE: Proof of flight information must be provided such as your airline tickets, printout of an electronic ticket, a copy of your itinerary.

Business Travel

The Embassy's Consular Section will try whenever possible--on a limited space-available basis--to expedite interview appointments for those with urgent business appointments in the United States.  Applicants must first contact the Visa Information Service at 1580 47 8472 (or (01) 436-0536 for the credit card option) or +353-1-436-0536 when calling from outside the Republic of Ireland. Applicants who need a special appointment for emergency travel may send an e-mail to DublinCons@state.gov to request an appointment, bearing in mind that spaces are limited.  When requesting an appointment, please explain your need to travel urgently to the United States.  Additionally, please put “request for an emergency appointment” in the subject line of your email.
