Growing Jobs: US-Ireland Priorities and Bilateral Opportunities

John Sweeney, President Emeritus of AFL-CIO; Richard Bruton, T.D., Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Daniel M. Rooney, US Ambassador to Ireland

On October 7, 2011 US Ambassador Daniel M. Rooney, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D. and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, T.D. hosted a bilateral business conference entitled “Growing Jobs: US-Ireland Priorities and Bilateral Opportunities”.

Aimed at business leaders seeking solutions and positive opportunities, the timing of the conference enabled prominent Irish American and local American business leaders to meet with Embassy and Irish official and business leaders a day prior to the October 7-8 Global Irish Economic Forum.

Ambassador Rooney noted: “Ireland’s economic success is very important to all of us.  I look forward to this Forum on ‘Growing Jobs’ to enhance U.S. and Irish business opportunities,” and Minister Bruton said: "This government is working hard every day of the week to maximise growth and jobs for Ireland. This forum offers a major opportunity to continue that work, and I look forward to taking full advantage".
