Deputy Chief of Mission, Robert Faucher

Mr. Faucher arrived in Ireland on August 9, 2007 to take up his duties as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Dublin.  He came directly from a two-year assignment as the Deputy Office Director for European Union Affairs in the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Faucher joined the Foreign Service in 1985 and has served overseas in Suriname, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium (at the U.S. Mission to the European Union) and the United Kingdom.  In addition to a recent stint on the EU desk, Mr. Faucher has served in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and the Legal Adviser’s Office at the State Department.

Mr. Faucher was born in Landstuhl, Germany and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona.  He holds BA and JD/MBA degrees from Arizona State University, an LLM degree from Edinburgh University and an MS degree from the National Defense University’s National War College.
