Ambassador Foley joined the Marines stationed at U.S. Embassy Dublin to deliver presents from the annual Toys for Tots drive. The purpose of the U.S. Marine Corps “Toys for Tots Program” is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in the community. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to bring a message of hope to the youngsters that will motivate and encourage them in their development.
On December 20th, Ambassador Foley and four marines from the Embassy visited St Vincent’s Center on the Navan Road, Dublin. St Vincent’s is a center for children with intellectual disabilities. They provide a loving and creative atmosphere where children can maximize their potential and enable them to take their place in society and contribute in a meaningful way.

After presenting each child with a present, Ambassador Foley and the Marines took time to talk, play and pose for photographs with the children. The Marine Corps is grateful to all those who contributed toys to this year’s program.
