Information Resource Center (IRC)
Information Resource Centers (IRC) can assist you with inquiries about U.S. government policy and organization, economy, history, culture and society. Information resources range from basic reference works to specialized government documents, legislation and a wide spectrum of American newspapers and periodicals.
The Information Resource Center offers monthly news services, covering the latest on U.S. foreign and domestic policies in a number of fields ranging from environment, trade and security, to librraries and American Studies. Please click here to view our monthly newsletter.
The IRCs are part of a network of information centers within the U.S. federal government and the American library community. Consider the IRC your primary resource in Ireland for information about the United States.
The IRC also provides background information and links on topics of particular interest for students and teachers in the About the USA section of the website.
The IRC administers the Embassy website, and we continuously work to improve the information portals, ranging from overviews of general information about the U.S. to specific knowledge portals on Education, American Studies or Traveling/Studying in the U.S.
IRC staff do not answer questions related to visa and immigration issues. Please consult the Mission website.
