Purchasing Assistant

U.S. Embassy Dublin invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Purchasing Assistant.

The successful candidate is responsible for the full range of activities associated with the procurement of goods and services for the U.S. Embassy through local and international vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Prior purchasing experience and a minimum of one years’ office experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Excellent communication, customer and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate contracts.
  • Thorough understanding of conventional acquisitions practices and a basic knowledge of both Irish and EU contracting laws, principles and rules of contractual engagement.
  • MS Office experience.
     

Salary details: €32,946 (starting salary) - €45,790 (maximum step on the salary scale). The maximum step on the salary scale is achieved through longevity.
