Visit of Dr. James H. Churnside, U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): Dublin, April 2007.  

Dr. James H. Churnside of the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) visited Dublin in April 2007.

Dr. Churnside has developed an airborne laser system (LIDAR) to detect fish in the upper ocean.  The purpose of his visit to Dublin was to serve as a NOAA delegate to the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) Study Group on Fisheries Optical Technologies (SGFOT.)

Dr. Churnside shared information about the LIDAR system with the Study Group on Fisheries Optical Technology (SGFOT) of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).
