A - Diplomats and Foreign Government Officials

B  - Temporary visitor for business or pleasure 
 
C - Transit through the United States
 
D  - Crew (airline/ship)
 
E  - Treaty Trader/Investor Visa
 
F-1/M-1 - Students: (academic and vocational)

G - Employees of International Organizations
 
H - Temporary Workers - Individuals in specialty occupations 

I  - Journalists 
 
J  - Exchange visitors (J-1s)
    - Expanded J-1 - Twelve-Month Intern Work and Travel Pilot Program
 
K  - Fiancé(e) of U.S. citizen - while technically a non-immigrant visa, the processing of this category actually falls under immigrant visas.
 
L - Intra-company transfer
 
O - Individuals with extraordinary abilities in sciences, arts, education, business, athletics - Read FAQs

Q  - Participants in an international cultural program

Q2 - Walsh Visa Program
