Exchange $100 Bills in Ireland

Irish banks may refuse to exchange one hundred dollar bills because there are significant numbers of fraudulent one hundred dollar bills currently in circulation in Ireland, especially bills issued prior to 1990. The following bodies, however, may have the ability to check the authenticity of one hundred dollar bills and may exchange them:

  • Bureau de Change
O’Connell Street (at the corner of Henry Street)
    Dublin 1
    Tel: (01) 872 5536
  • Currency Exchange
    Bank of Ireland
    2 College Green
    Dublin 2
    Tel: (01) 677 6801

They are limited to exchanging 4-5 $100 bills per day. As stated, bills issued prior to 1990 may be refused.
