Under an Irish Law Order of 1946, any alien who wishes to work in Ireland must have a permit in writing, issued to the employer by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Davitt House, 65A Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, Tel: 353-1-631-3308/631-3333, email: workpermits@entemp.ie, website: www.entemp.ie.. These work permits are usually granted only for specialized and skilled work.

Certain categories of persons may not require a work permit. We strongly recommend that persons who believe they may be exempt from obtaining a work permit contact INIS- Irish Naturalisation &
