Adding Visa Pages to Passports

This procedure should be done by mail unless your departure is imminent, or you have another need for your passport that can't wait two to three weeks. 

Visa pages may be added to current, full-validity passports (10 years for adults and 5 years for children) that are in good condition. There is no fee for this service.  
 
We generally can only add up to two sets of visa page inserts to a passport because the added thickness may damage the binding of the book during its validity.  Applicants who have already had two sets of visa pages added should apply to renew their passport.

If you meet the above requirements, submit all of the following:

1. Current valid passport;
2. Completed, signed and dated form DS-4085; (Please ignore page one of the printed instruction pages, as it does not apply when applying for extra visa pages in Ireland. 3. Include a stamped self-addressed envelope, size 6in x 9 1/2in approx., for the return of your passport.  Please affix to the envelope a €5.50 regular postage stamp or a combination of stamps to the value of €5.50.  We will return your passport to you by Express Post mail.  Processing should take two to three weeks.

For faster service, we recommend you complete all passport application forms online and print them out for your signature. When printing out the form, please note that only one-sided pages of the application form are accepted.

You may also submit a typewritten or printed form. Please print legibly using black ink, and make sure that all of the entered information is complete and correct. Illegible applications may delay application processing times.

Note that the online version of the application form includes instructions on the back side written for use in the U.S. only. These instructions do NOT apply to your application in Ireland. Please follow specific instructions provided on this webpage.

Imminent Departure
