Technology in the Classroom

"Good education starts with high standards, whether it be set by the President, the governor, or the superintendent, or the principal or the teacher in the classroom."

Remarks by President George W. Bush to Parents and Teachers.
Moline Elementary School, St. Louis, Missouri, February 20, 2001

From the President's Education Initiative: Enhancing Education Through Technology
The primary goal of this program is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. The program also seeks to:

(1) ensure that every student is technologically literate by the end of the eighth grade; and

(2) establish research-based instructional methods through the effective integration of technology, professional development for teachers, and curriculum development.
